About this Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 list

Header: Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 (codename dangalUHD, Amlogic/droidlogic, 2 GB RAM), Android TV 9 (SDK 28), firmware PI.6432.

Same "dangal" board family as examples/xiaomi-mitv-axso0. India unit. Live TV app: com.android.tv (set it as live_tv_package and hide it in launcher config.xml). Stock launcher: com.google.android.tvlauncher (the default, disabled by build-and-install.sh). Notes from this firmware: - USB debugging alone opens network ADB on port 5555; the stock adb binary worked from macOS here. - Default IME is already Gboard, so the Mi TV 4A missing-keyboard quirk doesn't apply. - Everything below stays disabled after `adb reboot`. - The remote's PatchWall button does nothing once com.mitv.tvhome.atv is disabled. - Google sign-in: tvlauncher's notification panel gets its list from com.google.android.tvrecommendations. With both disabled, Play Services' "Sign-in required" notice has nowhere to show, and Play Store only says "Authentication is required". To sign in again: `pm enable` both, open com.google.android.tvlauncher/.notifications.NotificationsSidePanelActivity, select the notice, enter the password, then disable both again. If the password page comes back after OK, press Back: the sign-in has usually worked already. - Storage is tight: 4.4 GB /data with about 600 MB free. A Play Services update took about 300 MB right after sign-in and Play installs then failed with error 1008; `pm trim-caches 64G` freed about 400 MB. - com.xiaomitv.sonyliv and com.zee5.xiaomiTV are old partner copies (2021-2023) with no launcher entry; the Play Store apps com.sonyliv and com.graymatrix.did stay.

Before you run it: every package below is disabled, not uninstalled. Comment out (prefix with #) any line for an app you use. Never disable the Play Store, Play Services, the on-screen keyboard or the TV input services that play HDMI. Switch USB debugging off when you are done.

Apply the Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 debloat

Turn on Developer options on the TV (Settings → Device Preferences → About → press OK on Build seven times), switch on USB debugging and, if shown, Network or ADB debugging. Then, from a clone of the cleanyourtv repository on a computer on the same Wi-Fi:

export TV_HOST=192.168.1.50   # your TV's IP address
tools/venv/bin/python -I tools/tv.py --probe
tools/disable.sh examples/xiaomi-mitv-axso2/debloat.txt

Then build and install the clean launcher, which makes itself the default Home and rolls back if it fails:

TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 launcher/build-and-install.sh

Prefer to let an assistant do it? Paste the cleanyourtv prompt into Claude Code with "Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2" as the model; it reads this list, checks each package on your TV and asks before anything that depends on your preferences.

Restore the Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2

TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 tools/restore.sh examples/xiaomi-mitv-axso2/debloat.txt

The restore script replays the state recorded before the change, so Home goes back to the launcher that owned it. More in the restore guide and the Android TV debloat guide.

Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 debloat FAQ

Is it safe to debloat the Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2?

The Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 list only uses pm disable-user, so nothing is uninstalled or flashed. Every package can be turned back on with the cleanyourtv restore script or from the TV's own Settings → Apps page. Apply it in small batches and check the TV between them.

How many packages does this Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 list disable?

32 packages, grouped as: Xiaomi + Google telemetry; PatchWall, content rows, sponsored rows, partner auto-installs; Xiaomi background services; Preloaded apps and more. Comment out any line you want to keep before running it.

Does the Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 list work on a similar model?

Often, if the platform matches. Compare the device codename and firmware in the list header with Settings → About on your TV. The cleanyourtv prompt also checks each package on your own set before touching it, so a near match is a good starting point.

Will the Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 get the Apple TV-style launcher?

Yes. After debloating, cleanyourtv builds its small native launcher (about 300 KB) and makes it the default Home, rolling back automatically if Home does not land on it.

How do I undo the Xiaomi MiTV-AXSO2 debloat?

Run TV_HOST=<tv ip> tools/restore.sh examples/xiaomi-mitv-axso2/debloat.txt. It replays the record saved before the change. Full steps are in the restore guide.
