About this TCL BeyondTV2 list

Header: TCL BeyondTV2, Latin America / Brazil market (ro.product.model BeyondTV2, brand TCL), Android TV 9

(API 28), build PPR1.180610.011, security patch 2021-01-05. Realtek RTD2851 family (ro.board.platform = rtd285o), firmware V8-R851T02-LF1V660, client TCL-LA-RT2851-S1. Fingerprint: TCL/BeyondTV2/BeyondTV:9/PPR1.180610.011/AP08:user/release-keys 2 GB RAM with 800 MB zRAM, 32-bit userspace, eMMC with 10 GB /data. Latin America set (TCL app store, no India Jio/Airtel/Hotstar; a set of UK Freeview catch-up apps is preloaded and was already disabled at the factory). Stock launcher: com.google.android.tvlauncher (restore.sh / build-and-install.sh defaults work). Live TV app: com.tcl.tv, with com.tcl.tvinput for the tuner and HDMI 1-3. This is a different set from examples/tcl-beyondtv (India market): same build number PPR1.180610.011, different product name and different region, so the preloaded app set and the factory-disabled set differ. Tested: applied on a real unit on 2026-10-18/19. Each package was disabled on its own, the device rebooted, and a 24-check smoke test (HDMI input, Live TV session, Netflix, Assistant, microphone, Bluetooth remote, audio output, no crashes) passed after every change. I have NOT lived with this list for days yet, and the file header says so. Measured effect: these two packages removed processes but gave NO measurable overall speed gain (idle CPU and app-open times stayed within run-to-run noise). They are kept for less telemetry, not for speed. Already disabled at the factory on this firmware: com.tcl.bootadservice, com.tcl.gallery, au.com.stan.and, com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom, com.linecorp.linetv, tv.wuaki.apptv and the 14 uk.co.freeview.* catch-up apps. DO NOT DISABLE (load-bearing): com.tcl.tv com.tcl.tvinput com.tcl.sourcemananger (Live TV, HDMI, tuner, Source menu), com.tcl.autopair com.tcl.tcl_bt_rcu_service com.tcl.keycustomfunctionservice (remote, BT pairing, FallbackHome), com.tcl.framework.custom com.tcl.keyhelp com.tcl.partnercustomizer (key handling, TKey activity), com.tcl.inputmethod.international com.tcl.settings com.tcl.initsetup com.tcl.factory.view com.tcl.common.terminalmanagerplus com.tcl.xian.StartandroidService com.tcl.appstatecontroller com.tcl.copydatatotv com.android.ListenNetStateService (unclear roles, boot/package/network hooks), com.realtek.netflix.setting (Netflix ESN/config), com.tcl.usercenter com.tcl.useragreement (setup screens), com.google.android.katniss com.google.android.speech.pumpkin com.tcl.assistant com.tcl.micmanager (voice), com.google.android.apps.mediashell (Chromecast), com.tcl.versionUpdateApp com.tcl.rc.ota (firmware updates).

Before you run it: every package below is disabled, not uninstalled. Comment out (prefix with #) any line for an app you use. Never disable the Play Store, Play Services, the on-screen keyboard or the TV input services that play HDMI. Switch USB debugging off when you are done.

Apply the TCL BeyondTV2 debloat

Turn on Developer options on the TV (Settings → Device Preferences → About → press OK on Build seven times), switch on USB debugging and, if shown, Network or ADB debugging. Then, from a clone of the cleanyourtv repository on a computer on the same Wi-Fi:

export TV_HOST=192.168.1.50   # your TV's IP address
tools/venv/bin/python -I tools/tv.py --probe
tools/disable.sh examples/tcl-beyondtv2-latin-america/debloat.txt

Then build and install the clean launcher, which makes itself the default Home and rolls back if it fails:

TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 launcher/build-and-install.sh

Prefer to let an assistant do it? Paste the cleanyourtv prompt into Claude Code with "TCL BeyondTV2" as the model; it reads this list, checks each package on your TV and asks before anything that depends on your preferences.

Restore the TCL BeyondTV2

TV_HOST=192.168.1.50 tools/restore.sh examples/tcl-beyondtv2-latin-america/debloat.txt

The restore script replays the state recorded before the change, so Home goes back to the launcher that owned it. More in the restore guide and the Android TV debloat guide.

TCL BeyondTV2 debloat FAQ

Is it safe to debloat the TCL BeyondTV2?

The TCL BeyondTV2 list only uses pm disable-user, so nothing is uninstalled or flashed. Every package can be turned back on with the cleanyourtv restore script or from the TV's own Settings → Apps page. Apply it in small batches and check the TV between them.

How many packages does this TCL BeyondTV2 list disable?

2 packages, grouped as: TCL analytics (telemetry); Content pushed to the home screen at boot. Comment out any line you want to keep before running it.

Does the TCL BeyondTV2 list work on a similar model?

Often, if the platform matches. Compare the device codename and firmware in the list header with Settings → About on your TV. The cleanyourtv prompt also checks each package on your own set before touching it, so a near match is a good starting point.

Will the TCL BeyondTV2 get the Apple TV-style launcher?

Yes. After debloating, cleanyourtv builds its small native launcher (about 300 KB) and makes it the default Home, rolling back automatically if Home does not land on it.

How do I undo the TCL BeyondTV2 debloat?

Run TV_HOST=<tv ip> tools/restore.sh examples/tcl-beyondtv2-latin-america/debloat.txt. It replays the record saved before the change. Full steps are in the restore guide.
